The Omar-Marwen conflict, also known as the Omar-Marwen Schism, or the Great Schism, was an event that took place around 2019 or so, when the original group reached critical mass, and resulted in the fracturing of The Centrist Chads between conservative and liberal members, and was the genesis of Marwen's lineage of groups. Details of the conflict are unclear because of how long ago it happened (i forgor) and also because i didnt bother interviewing anyone else but Omar and Marwen themselves so that's all I'll put here. Omar and Marwen never liked each other to begin with since they joined TCC, and constantly got into arguments in posts and comments sections, eventually reaching a boiling point and calling each other out before the groups split. According to Omar, the whole debaucle started because of Gillete's "The Best a Man Can Be" commercial, a highly controversial ad at the time. Omar also claims that Marwen had made fun of a kid named Hugh, who was well-liked in TCC when he confided in the members of the group chat. According to Marwen, however, he claims that Omar and the other more conservative members of the group had been bullying the transgender member, Zsofia. Omar and Yacoub banned Marwen and purged the group of his followers. This resulted in them coming together to form the second lineage of groups, with the latest iteration as of May 2023 recently renamed to "The Centrist Sugondese Chads: Upper Egypt Resurgence" As of the time of writing this, May of 2023, the main group of Yacoubian lineage is currently in it's 11th iteration and has Omar, Marwen, Yacoub, and Zsofia all in one place again. TCC is reunified. Marwen's group stands side-by-side with the main group and its 1488 morbillion other topic groups. It is incredibly ironic how a group of which one of the main premises was to try and bring the two sides of the political spectrum together ended up splitting apart due to ideological differences anyway. Sad!
